2006 National Heads-Up Championship

Phil Helmuth is set to defend his title in the 2006 National Heads-Up Championship at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, The tournament attracted 64 of the best poker players on the planet in a $20k heads up tournament format. The tournament is slated for 6 hours of coverage on NBC in May. Oddsmakers have Phil Ivey as the favorite at 35 to 1. Gabe Kaplan of "Welcome Back Kotter" fame is set to do commentary. The winner of the tournament will take down bragging rights as the worlds best heads-up poker player and $500,000.
