A Record Tying 10th WSOP Bracelet for Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth made WSOP history last night by winning his record tying 10th bracelet at the final table of the $1000 no limit holdem with rebuys. Hellmuth has moved into a tie with Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson for the most overall WSOP bracelets. According to Poker News, Hellmuth took a substantial chip lead to the final table only to drop down to the short stack with 3 players remaining. The key hand for Phil occurred when he was all-in with 55 and flopped trips on a 5-K-J flop against runner up Juha Helppi's Ad6d nut flush draw. The Qd landed on the turn giving Juha the nut flush and Phil facing elimination, was down to needing the board to pair on the river. Luckily for Phil, the Qh landed saving his tournament life and vaulting him to the chip lead which he would never relinquish . Phil Hellmuth won $631,863 for his victory and Finnish pro Juha Helppi received $331,144 for second place.
