after acquiring 3,000 Full Tilt points in one week for a shot at two World Series of Poker main event seats.Of course that means you need to play tourneys and cash games long enough to acquire enough points to do so. For the low rollers who frequently play under $1/$2 blinds in cash games, the play time to get those qualifying amounts can be high enough to lose a little sleep at the monitor while at work the next day. Of course there's various cash tourneys from $1 up to the weekly $1,000 + $60 that awards a seat for every 12 people in the prize pool.
But for those who don't have the money to pay for a decent laptop sitting around, freerolls are a surprisingly cheap way to gain entry to the big dance at the Rio Hotel and Casino. Enter America Online's two step nine seat giveaway promotion.
A hat tip to Wicked Chops, here's are some of the details surrounding this totally free shot at sitting with the pros during the WSOP main event in a playing capacity:
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: To participate in this Contest, go to http://games.aol.com/poker and enter one of the qualifying tournaments on the dates described below. Up to 5,000 participants may enter any qualifying tournament. A participant may enter any or all qualifying tournaments offered, but not more than one tournament at a time. A participant may only play one (1) hand in a qualifying tournament at any time. In the event it is determined that a participant is playing more than one hand in a qualifying tournament or playing in more than one (1) qualifying tournament at a time, the participant will be disqualified and will be unable to participate in any future tournaments. Participants may be advanced a buy-in of $100 in digital cash to play the game; $100 digital cash has no cash or other value outside this Contest. Each qualifying tournament will take place over a seven-day period (except for the 1st Main Event). You may not register for a qualifying tournament once the game has begun. The number of registered players will determine the length of each tournament. The top one hundred (100) finishers by reverse order eliminations of a qualifying tournament will each be given a digital pass to use to enter the Main Event Tournament for which he/she qualified. Only participants with the specific digital pass can register for a "Main Event Tournament", and participants must redeem the digital pass within the qualifying tournament Period in which it was acquired. More than one (1) digital pass may be earned, but only one (1) digital pass may be used per Main Event Tournament. Once a participant receives a digital pass, they must register for that Main Event Tournament by going to http://games.aol.com/poker and completing and submitting the online registration form. Participants must submit an online registration form by dates stated below in order to be eligible to participate in a Main Event Tournament. If a player leaves, sits out, or loses their internet connection during tournament play or does not arrive on time for tournament play, forced bets (blinds, antes, etc) will still be placed according to the blind and ante schedule posted on the details area of each tournament. Hands will fold at the next optional bet until they are out of chips. Their seat is automatically reserved and the participant may rejoin play at any time during that tournament as long as they still have chips. The winner of each Main Event Tournament will be declared a Grand Prize winner, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules. Participants must comply with all No-Limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament rules and regulations and all conclusions of Sponsor and judges. If a dispute results as to the identity of an online participant, it will be determined that the person participating is the authorized account holder of the email address from which the participation occurred. For these purposes, the authorized account holder is the natural person assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address.
