Aussie Assadourian Snags Another Title in the APPT High Roller Tourney
The Macau Asian Pacific Poker Tour event finalized today (or is it yesterday? that international date line is somewhere close right?). But, you just reported on the Main Event champion Dinh Le yesterday you might ask. Le did win the Main Event, but apparently people with too much money wanted to stay after and play for an even bigger prize pool.

The $15,000 buy-in "High Roller" event kept the serious poker players around for a few more days at the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino to plunk down more cash. 65 entries created a first prize of $368,640 for one lucky final table contestant.

Two well known pros John Juana and Liz Lieu managed to reach the final table but failed to take down Australian Eric Assadourian who pocketed the first prize money and got himself enough cash to buy in for the APPT Grand Final which is taking place in Sydney two weeks from now.

He isn't new to the winner's circle either as PokerStarsBlog.com reports:

This win continues a remarkable run for Assadourian over the past 18 months. He burst onto the scene to win the 2006 Melbourne Championships main event (worth $A80,000), knocking out Team PokerStars Pro Joe Hachem in third spot along the way.

He then made the trip across the Tasman Sea to Christchurch where he captured two titles, including the main event and $A100,000, in the 2007 New Zealand Poker Championships.

He also final tabled twice at the recent PokerNews Cup in Melbourne (eighth in Australia's first H.O.R.S.E. tournament and fourth in the $ 200 No Limit Hold'em event).
