Dario Alioto Scores For Italy at WSOPE

Dario Alioto was a mere 1000 chips off the first day lead when 44 people got in a nice snooze before returning for day 2 (check Dr. Pauly's site for the complete listing ). He would take those chips to the final table to battle wits with the infamous Tony G who's known as much for his poker skill as his trash talking skill (not to mention owning one of the best poker news sites on the web in Pokernews.com).
At the final table Dario would knock out Tony G on a rivered straight versus two pair and go on to defeat Istvan Novak for the second WSOPE bracelet awarded and a sizable 234,390 British Pound first prize.
For complete coverage head over to Pokernews.com for the hand for hand reporting, here's the death blow to Novak and victory was Alioto's:
Hand #166: Dario Alioto Wins £5,000 PLO Bracelet (£234,390); Istvan Novak Eliminated in Second Place (£137,280)
Hand #166: Istvan Novak was all in preflop against Dario Alioto.
Novak : AcQc3c9d
Alioto: AdKs7c5c
The flop was Tc7d6s and Alioto flopped a pair. The turn was the 5s and Alioto picked up two pair. Novak was drawing dead and the meaningless As fell on the river.
Istvan Novak was eliminated in second place. He won £137,280.
Dario Alioto is our champion and won £234,390.
