David "The Dragon" Pham (which Wicked Chops Poker would be quick to point isn't a real dragon) took down the live portion of the CardPlayer Player of the Year award by an astonishing 6562 points to the runner up JC Tran's 5748 point margin.

11 final tables were achieved by Pham (that's only counting the ones which met CardPlayer's criteria towards the POY rankings, that's only slightly more then the four final tables I made online on tourneys with a buy in above five dollars. You can decide which achievement is more newsworthy.

In a posting about Pham's major cashes from PokerKingBlog.com shows just how consistent his cashes and wins were this year:

Pham's biggest cash in 2007 came when he placed second in the 2007 Legends of Poker main event, finishing behind Dan Harrington. Pham earned $800k for his effort in this event.

Pham took down four smaller events in 2007, including two No Limit Hold'em events at the "Winning 'O' The Green", a preliminary event at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic and a Heads-Up event at the 2007 Mirage Poker showdown.
