Donkey Bomber Claims Some Jewelry
With some effort to keep up with the massive downhill snowball of events at the World Series of Poker, I'll try to give short recap from the various new (or old in the case of Alan Cunningham) bracelet winners from the past week. Beyond the mild scoff I have about the Harrah's pre-registration time limit (if you're going be sure to get your money down 14 days prior to the event), I'm barely sleeping in pre-game excitement to the event I'll be entering in a few weeks.

Hopefully, I'll be joining the ranks of some of these people:

Event #5 the $2,500 Omaha / Seven Card Stud Hi/Ho brought Tom "Donkey Bomber" Schneider to the final table with a pile of chips versus a "star" studded final group. Annie Duke, sister of Howard "The Professor" Lederer, Chris "I won the WSOP Main Event" Ferguson, and noted for having too much money on Full Tilt, high stakes player David Benyamine all came in looking to knock down Schneider's pile of checks.

But, the Donkey Bomber prevailed taking home $214,347 after taking down "Omaha Ed" Tonnellier while heads-up.

Here's the final tally for the final table players:

1 $ 214,347 Tom Schneider
2 $ 118,456 Ed Tonnellier
3 $ 75,210 Annie Duke
4 $ 50,391 Chris Ferguson
5 $ 39,109 Chris Bell
6 $ 29,708 David Benyamine
7 $ 22,939 Joe Bolnick
8 $ 16,922 John Phan

And you're so inclined, Haley Hintze at PokerNews has the recap, here's a small bite:

World Series of Poker® fans were treated to a hectic, star-stuffed Monday featuring a pair of new bracelet winners. Tom Schneider, veteran cash-game player and occasional poker-podcast co-host, never relinquished the commanding lead he took to the final table of Event #5, $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha & 7 Card Stud Hi / Lo despite staring at the likes of Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson, Annie Duke, John 'The Razor' Phan and David Benyamine. None of those four, however, provided the closest challenge, as the lesser-known Edmond 'Omaha Ed' Tonnellier came from having the table's shortest stack at the day's start to being the eventual runner-up; Duke placed third and Ferguson took fourth. Schneider picked up $214,347 for the win.
