Drew Carey Speaks About VFW Poker Raid

I don't lean politically left, right, center, up, or down here because quite frankly my views are all over the map and I doubt any one policy or political standpoint would be enough to tie my vote to a certain party. That and my intelligence level towards speaking about such policies would rival a person who just discovered a nifty invention called the internet.
But, when the folks at Pokerati found a video clip from Reason.TV I had to side with the Libertarian viewpoints shown. Close to the heart of Dan M's fan base in Dallas, the video clip is famous comedian Drew Carey (who can be found as the "new" Bob Barker on "The Price is right") talking about a recent raid on a charity poker game being put on by a local Veteran's of Foreign Wars (VFW) lodge.
In the video, those who were the victims of the raid describe how the police confiscated all of their poker tables, cards, TVs?!!?, and of course nearly $6,800 in "gambling" money. The money was used by the VFW to assist veterans down on their luck, as well as other charities such as helping the homeless in the area, was seized as evidence during the raid by Dallas Police. They did not comment when ask to do so by Reason.TV about the raid.
As a result of the raid, the lodge had to fold and currently a "for rent/sale" sign flies above the vacant room instead of an American Flag. Shouldn't the police be taking more into consideration when busting these games?
Common sense perhaps versus letter of the law?
