EPT Barcelona Weathers a Sand Storm
Filed in archive Tournament News on September 3, 2007
The european poker tour got off to a quick start with the conclusion of the first leg of the poker series across the pond. While the names at the final table may not be familiar to those in the US, it goes to show how popular this little game has become and continues to grow when you're handing out one million Euro checks to the lucky and skillful player that ended up with all chips at the end of the tourney.
The 7,700 + 300 Euro event gathered 543 players together in the poker tour sponsored by PokerStars.com finished up on Sunday with Sander Lylloff taking home the lion's share of the over 4 million Euro prize pool. His JT of hearts proved to be much stronger then the second best starting hand in Texas Hold Em' (KK) from runner up Mark Teltscher, when Lylloff flopped a four flush and a pair and caught trips on the turn to earn the 1.1 million Euro first prize.
For the best recaps check out PokerStarsBlog.com and PokerNews.com for the details of how Sander avoided the other 542 players to take down the big prize.
