with too much money on their hands to vie for a $262,000 first prize.Who said the red named Full Tilt pros can't do well in these tourneys must have taken a hit off something from a paint truck as JJ Liu, 2006 WPT Ladies Night Out champ and two time World Series of Poker final tablist, pushed her short stack to the final table bubble while collecting a five figure paycheck for her troubles.
One player at the final table, "smokinokun", already had the FTOPS football avatar for former champs looming over his opponents, and pushed his aggression to the max while making himself a contender from an ultra short stack. Unfortunately, he had to settle for $120,790 when his A7 couldn't catch up to Reds20's AK.
I'm sure people feel his pain.
Even with that elimination, chip leader Round42 still carried the lead when his top pair over took Reds20's second pair to win the $262,000 prize and a brand spankin new FTOPS football avatar. Here's a piece of Full Tilt.com's summary of this event.
The two remaining players continued the final table trend of small pre-flop raises and very little post-flop play, trying to pick their spots for a big all-in showdown. At one point, Round42 showed 5-7 after a pre-flop raise, hoping to induce some action.
Then, on the last hand, both players saw a cheap flop. The board came Ah-Kh-8c. Reds20 went all-in with Ac-6s for top pair and was called by Round42 who had second pair with Ks-10h. But the turn brought the 7 of hearts and the river brought an amazing Queen of hearts, giving Round42 the improbable flush and $262,169 in first-place prize money. Reds20 took home $173,070 for second place.
