FTOPS V Pot Limit Omaha Event #4

FTOPS Number four featured the action game of Pot Limit Omaha, and just to make it spicier, add the peppers of six-max play into this $535, $150,000 Guarantee event. Robert Mizrachi, sometimes known as brother of Mike "The Grinder" Mizrachi, but has been slowly making a name for himself winning the $10K PLO World Series of Poker tourney to go with two final table appearances in the same year, hosted the upper crust tourney.
As with many of the tourneys for the FTOPS, the prize pool easily eclipsed the guarantee as 622 players put up the entry fee to push the final tally to $311,000. With first prize taking down over $66,000 and the FTOPS golden football guy avatar, its not a bad idea to catch a few cards on your way to victory.
"bmqball" outlasted the field take home the mother load and snub his nose at the noxious railbirds cheering for his defeat. Read all about bmqball's heads up victory over serialkaller to win $66,865.00 at the Full Tilt.com recap page. A little cut of it shown below:
... Two hands later, "Tutnik" pushed in all his chips with 10-7-8-6. "bmqbal's" hand was only slightly better, but he had two spades
to go with the three spades on the board, flushing "Tutnik" from the tournament. At this point the rail birds started changing their tune. One of them saying, "'bmqbal' is on the way to a nice new avatar."
"bmqbal's" biggest competition came from the second-place finisher, "serialkaller." Earlier on, "serialkaller" came within striking distance of "bmqbal," but "bmqbal" won three key hands in a row, taking "serialkaller" down from over a million chips to 626K. "bmqbal" finally took the rest away when his full house beat "serialkaller's" set of Kings.
With 622 players, Event #4 went from a $150,000 guarantee to a $311,000 guarantee. "bmqbal" took home the lion's share of prize money, adding $66,856 to his bankroll.
The event's host, Robert Mizrachi, came in 36th place - the highest spot an FTOPS V host has yet been able to finish. Besides picking up some nice change ($1,244) he has bragging rights until Clonie Gowen, Paul Wasicka, Phil Ivey or one of the other hosts can top his performance... (complete recap at Full Tilt.com)
