Gambling911 on Betting the WSOP ME
Since we've got a World Series of Poker theme going this week (for good reason since it starts up on Friday) why don't we add a little gambling into the mix. There's always the argument about whether poker is a skill game or gambling which is about opinion and could never be proven since all the variables change on the turn of a card, personality of those playing, and the stakes which the chips represent.

But, this week if you feel lucky you could turn a little gambling on poker into a sizable win. Gambling911.com has broken down your WSOP Main Event champion horses lined up at sportsbook.com to wager on a potentially make a pile of money in the process.

With long odds on even the best player in the world, Phil Ivey is sitting at 150-1, you could be looking at a sizable pay day should the five time WSOP bracelet winner break thru the massive field.

Here's Gambling911 primer on the winning at the WSOP without being there:

Phil Ivey was assigned the shortest odds and therefore the favorite in this year's World Series of Poker. At press time he was ranked at 150 to 1 odds.

What does this mean?

Phil Ivey would essentially pay out $15,000 for every $100 bet. This year it is easier than ever to potentially win big with a nominal risk thanks to a much smaller pool of entrants.

Still, like in past years, the folks at Sportsbook.com are banking on a relative unknown to win the 2007 World Series of Poker (a la Jamie Gold last year). They realize that most of those customers betting on the World Series of Poker props will be putting their money on well known poker players like Phil Ivey, Johnny Chan and David Williams, and few people will bet more than $100 on one poker player out of a few thousand.
