How many of you are aware about World Series of Poker or WSOP? This is immensely popular series of poker tournaments which is held yearly in Las Veags. The first tournament was held in 1970 when Benny Binion called upon six of the best known poker players to the Horseshoe Casino. Slowly and steadily this tournament has gained immense popularity. It has involved involve cash prizes since 1971. The initial World Series of Poker was a single tournament with set start and stop time with secret ballet determining the winner. The winning player is awarded the coveted World Series of Poker bracelet and since 1976, every winner has received the bracelet at the annual WSOP.
World Series of Poker Hall of Fame was initiated in 1979 and since then 38 individuals have been honored. The first extension of the World Series of Poker is the World Series of Poker Europe and since 1970 has occurred every year in Las Vegas.
