Goodlatte bill Passes House of Representatives
Filed in archive Internet Poker on July 11, 2006

According to The Baltimore Sun , The Goodlatte Bill, a bill which would allow authorities to work with Internet providers to block access to gambling Web sites, was passed today in the U.S. House of Representatives by a 317-93 vote. The legislation would prevent poker players from funding their online poker accounts by credit card or checking accounts and would ban access to online gambling sites. Opponents of the bill would rather regulate Internet gaming and earn tax revenues on a $12 billion dollar a year industry. Exceptions for the ban have been written into the bill for horse racing and state lotteries. I urge you to write your senators in protest of the Goodlatte Bill and join the Poker Players Alliance.
