According to The Baltimore Sun , The Goodlatte Bill, a bill which would allow authorities to work with Internet providers to block access to gambling Web sites, was passed today in the U.S. House of Representatives by a 317-93 vote. The legislation would prevent poker players from funding their online poker accounts by credit card or checking accounts and would ban access to online gambling sites
. Opponents of the bill would rather regulate Internet gaming and earn tax revenues on a $12 billion dollar a year industry. Exceptions for the ban have been written into the bill for horse racing and state lotteries. I urge you to write your senators in protest of the Goodlatte Bill and join the Poker Players Alliance.Permalink: Goodlatte bill Passes House of Representatives
