High Stakes Poker is a minimum $100,000 buy in cash game played by the degenerate gamblers of all shapes, sizes, and scowls on TV with hole cameras so the novice poker player at home can follow along with the action. Names like Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, and fan favorite Mike "the Mouth" Matusow will be dropping in attempt to score a few dinner's at Kentucky fried chicken
with pots pushing the seven figure range. The new season is set to start up on Tuesday or Thursdays at 9 Eastern Standard Time/8 Central (the site shows a graphic for Tuesdays but lists Thursday in its schedule). Here's a little primer from the Game Show Network on this exciting poker show that takes people to the cash games not normally seen by poker fans who watch from home:
HIGH STAKES POKER: Season 4 promises to be the richest cash game on TV. Get set because the last seven episodes of this new season will showcase $5 million+ on the table. Once again the world's top players and personalities face-off against newcomers putting-up at least $100,000 of their own cash in a private, no-limit game of Texas Hold'em. The line-up of players includes the controversial Phil Hellmuth (returning after a long absence) the legendary Doyle Brunson, the charismatic Daniel Negreanu and 2006 WSOP champion Jamie Gold. In addition, popular pros will also return including Mike 'The Mouth' Matusow, Jennifer Harman, Barry Greenstein, Eli Elezra, Phil 'Unabomber' Laak, Sammy Farha, and Todd Brunson.
