As the United States tries to pass legislation to ban internet gaming, Sweden has opened its own poker site "Svenska Spel". The government is hoping to cash in on the over 200,000 Swedish players who play internet poker. According to Poker News , over 1000 real money players signed up to play during Svenska Spels' first 2 hours of operation. With a 2.5% rake, the government expects to earn over 32 millions dollars in profits during the first year. Might it be about time the United States government considers doing the same thing?
