LA Poker Classic Day 1

Since I can not find any live reporting on these interwebs this morning we'll go straight to the source with defending champ of the first event Ryan Kallberg at Absinthetics. Here's his first post while getting ready to do battle with California's not-so-finest card runner's:
People are starting to take their seats. Guy three to my left is apparently something of a comedian, playing dumb and asking if he could sit at this table, pretending he didn't know you needed to register. Here's hoping he's an equally good player!
Unfortunately, donkeys always draw and he was out with about 200 players left after his AKs failed to hold versus KQo:
Out. AKs outrun by KQo. T9x flop, one club, I have clubs. Turn is Jack of clubs. River is neither a club nor a queen, but is a king just to rub the salt in a little.
He was right to call the raise - the blinds had just jumped to 300/600/75. I had just under 4k left after posting the SB. Which I'd gotten by pushing on limpers and restealing - my high water mark was 4500. Still frustrating, as that was the pot I needed to win to make a run and that was the best hand I'd seen snce level one.
