Commerce Hotel and Casino in Los Angeles, California, home to the World Poker Tour L.A. Classic and what might be the largest cardroom in North America. The Commerce has now decided to enter in what could be a change in the way poker players sling chips at live cardrooms.

Lightning Poker, a brand similar to PokerTek, will be offering its wares at the vast cardroom to cater to those internet players who are spoiled by the quickness and efficiency of the online game. No misdeals or incorrectly chopped pots, just virtual cards and chips flying across several monitors.

Being an online player myself who doesn't have the chance to play "live" poker often, I enjoy the camaraderie of a fun table and the ability to cut and shuffle chips while trying to string along that player in the four seat who's holding his cards a little too tightly after bluffing on the river. But, for things like SnGs and satellites into bigger tourneys at the Commerce or any casino for that matter, products like Lightning Poker will be a godsend for getting players through the single table tourney process without tying up resources that could be better used.

A new business deal will see the Commerce Casino taking on automated poker tables from Lightning Poker Inc.

Lightning Poker announced the deal Friday that would place multiple dealerless, fully-automated poker tables in the Commerce Casino's poker room.

"Lightning Poker is thrilled to install our tables at the preeminent poker destination in the world, Commerce Casino," said Brian Haveson, Lightning Poker CEO.

"We are confident that Commerce and Lightning Poker will provide Commerce's customers a truly enjoyable poker experience."

Haveson said the Commerce, which is the largest poker casino in the world and hosts some of the largest poker tournaments, is as knowledgeable and supportive as any casino in the world when it comes to poker and servicing poker players.

"We are excited to offer this innovative electronic poker table product to our poker customers," said Tim Gustin, Commerce Casino casino manager.

"Lightning Poker's faster and amazingly intuitive game play will offer Commerce customers a new poker option we believe will be very popular in our casino."

Lighting Poker is designed to provide fast-action poker play to satisfy poker players while helping decrease costs for the casinos to run a table game.
