Mookie Rolls On

For those not in the know or are not avid poker blogger readers, The Mookie is a weekly small buy-in tourney ($10 + $1) at Full Tilt that many bloggers drop by more for the chat, then hopes to check-raise their favorite authors.
Of course there are some who take the cards dealt in their direction a little more seriously then others, after all we are mostly poker players and beating our peers definitely boosts the ego (if not a small padding to the bankroll for some of the low rollers). Normally the tourney sets up about 50-60 bloggers and fans of Mookie's site, not bad for a mid-week tourney full of parents, professionals, and the occasional poker pro.
Along with the festivities also is Buddy Dank Radio playing requests from the bloggers and providing some play by play action as the evening rolls along. If you bust out early of the Mookie tourney there's always a second chance at the Dookie, which is a $5+$.50 affair with a non-NLHE catch to it as the style of poker is chosen by last week's champ.
While I bubbled the final table of the Dookie (Queens don't trump Aces in stud
Hi) and left 15th in the Mookie (outflipped by my favorite hand 99 vs. my AK), its no regrets for hanging out virtually with my friends for a low cost and high return (despite what my Excel bankroll sheet says). Permalink: Mookie Rolls On
