NBC Crowns Heads Up Champion
Jesus couldn't walk on water towards a third consecutive final. Phil Ivey couldn't manage to slide by actor Don Cheadle. 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Chris Moneymaker was bounced by the 2005 champ Joe Hachem.

This past weekend at the posh Caesar's Palace poker room, NBC brought the third installment of their National Heads-Up Poker Championship with $500,000 going to one lucky winner from a hand selected field of 64. May the best man win!

Er... unless its a woman.

Because seasoned pro Kristy Gazes and actress Shannon Elizabeth both carved their ways into the quarterfinals. Males continued to fall at the feet of these lovely ladies in the field of 16 were long time pros Barry Greenstein, Ted Forrest, TJ Cloutier, and WSOP main event champ Huck Seed.

Sadly Gazes' fate was met in the quarterfinals but Shannon Elizabeth maybe better known for playing Nadia in "American Pie" versus her two WSOP cashes fell short of the final table losing in the semifinals to eventual champion WSOP 2006 runner up Paul Wasicka who just came off a huge cash in the WPT L.A. Poker Classic.

Wasicka took home the title after defeating 2006 Bluff Magazine Player of the Year Chad Brown in the finals.
