NBC Heads-Up Championship Day 1
I'm sure Alisha Kunze would have wished for a little more exciting exit then a coin flip, but unfortunately the 23 year old PokerStars.net qualifier will have to settle for the experience of playing heads-up with one of the best poker players on the planet. Phil Ivey took down the 1st round match with Kunze with J9 vs. Kunze's sevens that couldn't find a third when Ivey's flopped two pair.
Also advancing from the spades bracket are 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Jerry Yang (who got God's blessing again with a two-outer to move on), 2-time WSOP Main Event champ Johnny Chan, and another WSOP Main Event champ Scotty Nguyen. Think this field is packed enough?
From the Clubs bracket, the only "actor" left in the field as Pokernews.com described as some disease due to the way they all exited yesterday, Gabe Kaplan who announces for High Stakes Poker on Game Show Network will be taking on World Poker Tour champ Jonathan Little in his second round match.
For the up to the flop updates, Pokernews.com is live blogging the tourney and you can catch up at work the next day with the recaps from Amy Calistri (like I did).
