Nesson Goes on Colbert Report to Advocate Online Poker's Positives
Filed in archive Poker News by David Aydt on January 28, 2008

Politicians playing poker, seems as natural as a mother wanting to care for her young. After all they stand in front of audience on a daily basis trying to persuade the masses that their beliefs/message is the best one.

After doing my daily blog reading this morning I found a couple of sites with links to poker advocate Charles Nesson recent visit to the Colbert Report on Comedy Central. Trying to go mainstream with the idea for legalizing online poker, more shows like this need to happen. Regardless of the message the words: Harvard and Professor bring weight to the argument.

His main point was the difference between poker and casino gambling and how a skillful player will win more often then the non-skilled is the basis of the argument that the Poker Players Alliance brought in front of the legislature months ago. The problem is if you knock down casino gambling most people don't differentiate between poker and gambling , and you've just hurt your own argument before getting out of the gate. Watch the video above especially the last part were Nesson recommends bringing the presidential candidates on the show for a poker tournament between them.
