New Month, New Attitude

and some new socks acquired at Christmas time. Poker wise, January was a time of testing the limits of variance and riding her up and down through a nasty ten buy-in swing which tested the my laptop's durability while hitting the walls. Then later in the month I was fortunate enough to take the bridesmaid prize in a Pot Limit Omaha tourney to erase a little bit of the spackle marks, and finish the month with a slight loss on the ledger. I realize Omaha isn't exactly a haven for safe play, but the cards don't matter as much as keeping a cool head.
Take this evening for instance... second hand in, lost one half stack due to a runner-runner special that leaves the gentleman with the baby picture laughing at my rebuy to top off my stack. Ignoring the TV's mention of -20 windchill outside, I wrap myself up in my favorite blanket and manage a positive session while retrieving my lost coins by playing the more aggressive game I've finally become more comfortable with.
My hopes is that this new attitude, and new month continue on an upwards trend... because playing catch-up is something better left for playing tag with my kids when the weather returns to humane standards.
