New Poker Stadium in Downtown Las Vegas
Filed in archive Tournament News on March 23, 2006
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal , tournament poker has turned into a live spectator sport with the new "poker arena" at the Neonopolis in downtown Las Vegas. Three of the movie theaters there will be changed into the pokerdome for live spectator viewing of tournaments. Unlike other televised tournaments, the spectators will have access to the hole card cameras that reveal a players hole cards to the tv audience. This is accomplished by placing the poker players in a soundproof one way glass room so they can not see or hear the audience. The tournaments will be televised on Fox Sports the following day. Forty-four tournaments are scheduled for this year and Neonopolis has a 3 year deal with Fox Sports.
