NPL Is Not the Kiddie Game Down the Street
Filed in archive Tournament News on December 3, 2007
The World Poker Tour Five Diamond Tourney at the Bellagio will get most of the high roller play in Vegas this week leading up to main event that starts December 12th. But, down the road at The Venetian they are welcoming different tour to their luxurious digs. No, I'm not talking about a 100+ degenerate poker bloggers to invade their poker space on Saturday for the WPBT Winter Classic (starts at 3pm if you'd like to meet/rail your favorite internet poker Scribes).
The National Poker League is currently holding their Vegas Open with 4 $2,500 events, a $5,000 event, and topping it off with a $15,000 main event that concludes on December 5th with the final table. Pokerati Scribe/WSOP Player of the Year/DonkeyBomber Tom Schneider continues to let people know that he doesn't suck, by earning some more Cardplayer Player of the Year points by finishing 4th in event number three. Russ "Dutch" Boyd managed the win and I'm sure you'll find some discussion soon on whether or not the prize money will be going to people he owes from his foray into ownership of a internet poker site.
If you're in Vegas, have a wad of cash that you don't know what to do with, and know that a straight beats a flush there's plenty of high stakes poker action going down right now.
