Poker Players Make Good
There has been a lot of talk about how internet poker is supposed to be an anti-social money grab for college students and the professional sharks of the game. But, one thing I've learned about the poker community is that they are always willing to pitch in for those in need. Ironic of course since a poker player's job is to relieve their opponents of their wallets and chips.

Barry Greenstein noted high stakes poker player, World Poker Tour champion, constant in the "big" game at the Belliago where one hand can net you a house, is known for his generosity away from the tables. Children Inc. is an organization that gives assitance to homeless and poor children around the world and the United States and Greenstein donates all of his tourney winnings to this organization.

Recently someone from the 2+2 poker community boards set a challenge up for its board contributors to raise $10,000 for Greenstein's favorite charity for mentioning the slang term "donkuments" on the air during GSN's High Stakes Poker. 93 pages of posts and donations later and over $25,000 has been raised in a matter of one day.

Who says the holla balla tourney crowd doesn't have a heart? They may lack some tact at the tables, but this is proof that poker players can rally around a cause in a hurry and back their voices with cash.
