Poker Stars hits another Milestone
According to Yahoo News, online poker giant, Poker Stars, reached another milestone this week with its 5 millionth registered player. Since its launch in 2001, Poker Stars has been cashing in on the poker boom with rapid growth in number of registered players, players playing online at one time, and record tournament prize pools. Earlier this month, over 100,000 players were playing at Poker Stars at the same time. Poker Stars recently increased its Sunday tournament buy-in to $1000 and a record $1,000,000 prize pool was created. Satellites to the WSOP Main Event are currently running with $5,000,000 of free seats to be awarded to frequent players. Last year, I won my seat in the WSOP through this promotion and I am looking forward to attempting to qualify online again this year.
