PokerBowl Nears Its Conclusion
Poker is not a team sport, in fact most of the time such play would draw a flag if football jargon was being used. If the game is being played in someone's basement, asking to huddle with your friends to make a decision to call with a lowly pair of fours on the river while facing an all-in bet from the biker with a tattoo reading "The Gun Show Starts Here" on each arm, might get you a negative number of digits on your fingers when you leave.

The US Poker League wants to change the perception of team play in poker with its PokerBowl and $1 million prize. Several big name poker pros are lining up in their respective cities across the United States to take their teams to the finals in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 23rd at Bally's Casino.

For a little information on how this team format poker tournament works, check out a little part of the information pagebelow:

There are three original tables consisting of 10 players each. Teams will send a tag-team (2 teammates) to each original table. Although seating is randomly drawn, its done so in way that guarantees teammates will begin at opposite ends of the table. When the tournament begins, all 3 tables will play independently until only 10 players remain in the tournament. (shootout style). Blinds will continue to increase at each table until 10 final players remain, however, any table that has only 3 players remaining will stop play and those 3 will all advance to the final table.
