Internet Poker
by David Aydt on January 5, 2007

Pokerroom, one of the earliest entries into the world of online poker, had quite the snafu over a recent Christmas Guarentee tourney, where they offered a $19,000 prize pool regardless of the amount of entries and some nice swag such as a TV for first.
All was well in the neighborhood after the tourney as the winner found nearly $3K in his account... then as he went to cash out, found his account balance to have a little less then flush. Since then several different poker posting communites have in the words of the Pokerroom rep "brought out the pitchfolks and torches". Since then, Pokerroom has honored the glitch and restored the monies once removed but it raises an awareness of just how quickly funds can be snatched away with the player having very little recourse other then throwing up a post at 2+2 or Pocketfives.
Shout out to the blogfather for finding the limp wristed response by the Pokerroom rep.

I don't find it normal to steal someone's winnings. Ok it's a game it has certain winning odds but when you win you get paid.
