PokerStars Wants To Make You a TV Star
More free stuff at PokerStars? Yep, it's true. Right now they are running nightly qualifiers to appear on TV with some of the best poker pros in the business for the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. The best part of the promo is the cost: absolutely free (except of course you're at the bar running up a tab while going through the field on your laptop during the two qualifier tourneys that run nightly).

Below is the promotional email I received from PokerStars to describe this great way for a low-roller to make it big under the spotlight of national television (yes the lovely shannon elizabeth will be there):

NBC will start filming its National Heads-Up Poker Championship at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on February 28th

PokerStars.net is the only poker Web site running a qualifying tournament from now until Feb. 22, with the winner heading to Vegas on PokerStars' table to joust with the likes of the world's top celebrities, athletes and poker pros.

PokerStar's will pay the $20,000 entry fee along with four nights of accommodations in Las Vegas and $1,000 cash for travel to the winner.

PokerStars.net holds the only "satellite invitation" into the field of 64. This is the first time in the history of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship that one online player will be allowed into the celebrity- professional-only field to compete for $1.5 million on TV's highest-rated poker broadcast.

Five Team PokerStars Pro members will flex their poker muscles at this year's event including Barry Greenstien, Greg Raymer, Vanessa Rousso, Joe Hachem and Daniel Negreanu.

Free tournaments run every day at 7:00 and 10:00 PM ET at PokerStars.net.
