PPA October Updates
Filed in archive Poker Laws on October 13, 2007
Former US Senator, current Poker Players Alliance Chairman Al D'Amato recently sent out a sort of "State of the Union" email to those who are part of the PPA and are wondering what this group is doing in Washington.
While the verbage of the address seems a little basic for those who have been keeping up with the ongoing struggles against the UIGEA, it's a good recap of what IS actually going on. Getting online poker back to the carefree days of easy money transfers without having to jump through multiple loopholes to reach your online bankroll may not happen for years. With luck, from people like the PPA and fellow poker players getting the word out those their respective senators and representatives, we will have a system like Neteller again that will flow your hardly earned dollars through the various sites without incurring bankroll damaging fees.
Follow the link to the PPA website and read below for a small part of an event they are putting on:
I am also excited to inform you of our Washington D.C. policy conference which is taking place Oct. 22-24. I have been promoting this event to select PPA members who reside in targeted Congressional Districts. I am pleased to announce that more than 100 PPA members and professional poker players will converge on Capitol Hill to meet with lawmakers and tell them poker is not a crime! This is a major step to truly demonstrate that there is a passionate poker-playing constituency that is crying out for Congress to do the right thing. We hope to make this an annual event where we invite all of our PPA members to attend.
