Rekrul Rules for WSOP Heads Up Bracelet

Shorr

Heads up poker can be described more as a test of mind reading and seeing if your horseshoe is lucky enough to hit cards at the right time. With an array of sit and go tournaments and heads-up cash games on the internet, the World Series of Poker came out with Event 31 to celebrate the final battle of wits at a multi table tournament.

The $5,000 buy-in tourney featured 392 players to battle head to head in a bracket styled tournament to determine the bracelet winner and a $425,594 first prize.

Aussie Millions champ Shannon Shorr counted himself as one of the final eight, but it was another internet phenom Dan "Rekrul" Schreiber who took down the tourney claiming his first WSOP bracelet.

Dr Pauly was there for Pokernews.com to replay Schreiber's victory over Mark Muchnik who took home almost a quarter of a million dollars as the tourney's runner-up:

• M2 Hand #10: Muchnik Crippled
Schreiber raised 70K and Muchnik re-raised 420K. Schreiber called. The flop was J83. Muchnik moved all in and Schreiber called.

Muchnik: K9
Schreiber: QJ

Schreiber was in the lead with jacks, but Muchnik had a flush draw. The turn was the 3 and the river was the A. Muchnik thought he lost and walked away from the table. He had Schreiber covered, but was crippled by the hand.

• Dan "Rekrul" Schreiber beat Mark Munchik 2-0 in a Best of Three series in order to take down Event #30. He won $425,594 and collected his first WSOP bracelet.

Schreiber won the first match against Muchnik in 79 hands. He won the second match in 11 hands. He beat Vanessa Selbst, Toto Leonidas, Jonah Rogers, and Carl Olson in the last two days en route to his victory.
