Filed in archive Poker News on March 31, 2006
According to Card Player Magazine, Robert Varkonyi defeated defending champion Juha Helppi in Inter Poker's Extreme Poker Challenge. The event was played in a snow fortress in Finland where temperatures reached -10 degrees. Varkonyi, playing in just a t-shirt after sacrificing his jacket to rebuy chips, jogged around between hands to keep warm. The next Extreme Poker Challenge will take place in an airplane over the Las Vegas desert in which losers in the tournament will have to parachute to the ground. Details for qualifying for this event can be found at Inter Poker.
