Running Aces to Host Trent Tucker Charity Poker Tournament

Running Aces is the new kid on the block in the realm of live poker room in my home state of Minnesota. Unfortunately, due to parenting and a billion other excuses I haven't had the pleasure of actually going into the place despite driving by several times on the way to my cabin.

Recently as PokerNews.com reports, the annual Trent Tucker charity poker tournament will be taking place there on September, 11th to benefit the Trent Tucker Non-Profit Organization. Moving from its previous home at Canterbury Park's card room here's the scheduled players to appear and for card room WAY outside of Vegas or California you'd be hard-pressed to find this kind of star power:

Celebrities scheduled to take part include NBA superstars Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen and Charles Oakley, Minnesota Viking Darren Sharper, former Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders, famed record producer Jimmy Jam, and, to intimidate the other players, poker pros Johnny Chan, Marcel "The Flying Dutchman" Luske, and Michelle Lau.

"We're very pleased Running Aces Harness Park is committed to helping improve the lives of our youth," said Tucker,

former UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA and NBA basketball star and founder of the charity organization that bears his name. "The card room at Running Aces is second to none. It will be a wonderful venue for what promises to be another successful poker tournament."

For $1,250 you can grab a seat next to the pros and basketball legends to play some cards and talk smack while competing for several prizes including "$12,500 cash; Timberwolves, Wild and Vikings tickets; a 52" Toshiba TV and more."
