Scott Clements Wins WPT North American Poker Championship
Barry Greenstein may have headlined the stacked final table at the world poker tour North American Poker Championships, but he didn't walk away with the title.
Unfortunately for Greenstein his dominating A9 vs. K9 of third place finisher David Cloutier was all-in preflop but a King showed itself on the turn. For his third place finish Cloutier (not named T.J.) took home $355,021 Canuck Bucks and an autographed copy of Greenstein's book "Ace on the River".
The heads up play between World Series of Poker bracelet holder Scott Clements and current World Poker Tour player of the year point leader Jonathan Little finished off this mammoth final table that was the longest in WPT history at 271 hands.
Scott Clements would trap Little on the fateful hand when flopping trips with Q5, and Little fell for it when his K4 kicker paired on the turn giving Clements the title and $1.38 million for the win.
