Ted Forrest wins NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Championship
Filed in archive Poker News on March 7, 2006
Ted Forrest won NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Championship early this morning. He bested Chris Ferguson, who also took second in the inaugural NHUPC a year ago to Phil Hellmuth.
The NHUPC, as reported on earlier, is a 64 player, one-on-one, bracket style invitational tournament, similar to the NCAA's annual basketball championship. The buy-in is $20,000 and for winning Forrest took home $500,000.
Last year the tournament grossed over six million viewers on television. This year coverage has been expanded to 10 hours and will air over six Sundays, beginning April 16th. Note to self: set TiVo.
