The Beginning of the End for Internet Poker?
Filed in archive Internet Poker on June 8, 2006
According to gambling911.com, the FBI has taken control of internet poker site Poker Host. Players were told to send an email to Poker Host to retrieve their account information and after submitting personal information, the players received the following statement from the FBI:
Thank you for your cooperation.....Poker Host has been caught taking illegal wagers for United States citizens..... residing in jurisdictions with laws prohibiting such activities. As well as these suspicious gambling activities, other charges include tax evasion and racketeering.
This action combined with the Goodlatte bill in the Senate makes one have serious doubts about the future of online poker in the United States.
