World Poker Open Greets A First Time Champ

There were three big names at the final table of the World Poker Tour World Poker Open event in Tunica, Mississippi. The Gold Strike casino was all set to host chip leader Freddy Deeb, WPT champ Hoyt Corkins, and World Series of Poker bracelet holer Men "The Master" Nguyen as half of its exciting final table.
Despite these three formidable opponents, it was Brett Faustman who walked away with the trophy, over $800K in cash, and a freeroll at the biggest tourney on the WPT circuit with a $25,000 buy in to the season ending WPT Championship. The final payout did land as figured when Corkins, Nguyen, and Deeb finished second thru fourth respectively.
As WorldPokerTour.com reported:
Faced with the task of taking on two former World Poker Tour champions and the World Poker Open best all-around player, Brett Faustman definitely had a lot on his plate. But the former collegiate wrestlerhad no problem navigating a tough final table filled with some of the poker world's most interesting personalities. When the smoke cleared, and the chatter subsided, Faustman was the last man standing, having pinned his competition in not so record time.
As saying with poker "anyone can win". Congrats to the newest WPT champ!
