WPBT Goes International

Two years ago I met up with some folks with similar interest in the game of poker in town near Henderson, Nevada.

Ok, it was Vegas.

Thus the World Poker Blogger Tour's second installment of a live tourney (versus the ones we all played via the intertubes) was set at the aladdin Hotel and Casino (soon to be Planet Hollywood). Many of us were starting out in our blogging adventures and this marked a day where nearly 100 of us got together thousands of miles from home just to meet the faces behind the IM chat boxes and well wishes when one of us would make a final table of a tournament.

"Do your Twins feel lucky?" asked the cocky, smiling New Yorker. After a 2-1 series win by the Twinkies over the Yankees I would take my sweet ten dollars earned from the gentleman who is now on a flight to the land down under to cover the Aussie Millions. I wish Dr. Pauly the best while in Australia and will be following his progress here.

An Otis elevator hat? I spied one across the Aladdin's poker room floor as I took my seat for the tourney in the far corner.

Growing up with a thirty year employee of that company I've seen a couple of them laying around the house, but I thought he was a journalist, not an engineer. While he may not be able to fix an escalator Brad "Otis" Willis does wonders with sentences. This week he'll be taking us to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
