WPT Puts on the Flannel for the North American Poker Championship
Poker, eh?

I am a resident of Minnesota and on my travels to the northern part of the state; you will find towns like Ely and Tower to have a Canadian "feel" to them. No, they don't speak French-Canadian up there, but there is a plethora of cabins, fishing and hunting resort lodges, and plenty of people walking around in flannel.

One of my favorite stops is the Fortune Bay Resort and Casino near Lake Vermillion that has expanded from the one room, one wall of slots and couple of blackjack tables, to a huge resort with a championship golf course that lets the player over see the untouched nature of the northlands.

As the poker room was built there a few year ago, you could see the casinos to the north were already jockeying for position on this wildly popular casino game. Fallsview Resort and Casino is one of the gambling halls that saw this, and is hosting once again the World Poker Tour North American Poker Championship.

For live updates on the tourney, head over to the WPT site for live blogging of the 504 person field that put up $10,000 Canuck Bucks to enter.
