WPTOnline Gives Kinda Play Chip Online Poker a Spin

One thing I enjoy about heading out to a bar for a local poker club tourney is the cost. Granted, I'll spend a few bucks tipping back a Cap'n Coke or two, but the chance to play a little live poker for free with nothing but reward are there for good play. People earn points towards freerolls for "real" prizes like World Series of Poker buy ins, trips to Vegas, and World Poker Tour event packages.

Now, there will be a similar way to qualify for such lofty pokery prizes at
ClubWPT.com as they attempt to enter the US market by touting their site as "subscription based". For $19.95 a month you get a shot at iPods and Omaha Steaks via free poker tourneys and extreme blackjack.

Playing for play chips like isn't a novelty,Ujogo.com, also banks on strength in numbers to support its free site. In my opinion this is just a home base for the WPT to get their brand name out there further until the US government decides what they're going to do with internet poker and gambling. Don't be surprised if this site flips the switch to cash games fairly quickly if the laws surrounding online poker loosen up.

Hat tip to Wicked Chops for the find.
