WSOP Notes: Ferguson Close to Final Table in Event #2
"Luckat" at PokerStars a future pro? Kathy Liebert had a final table deal with the online juggernaut during Event #1 of the World Series of Poker's $10,000 Pot Limit Hold Em' Championship. Coming from behind, she managed a fourth place finish.
From Pokerlistings.com's live updates they are down to 10 players left with Full Tilt pro and former WSOP Main Event champ Chris Ferguson is one player away from notching his 26th WSOP final table. I'm sure he has enough wrist space for a sixth bracelet as well.
The star power can be seen in Event #4's $5,000 Mixed Hold Em' tournament, going into its second day tonight with several top stars looking for their first, second, or eleventh bracelet. Currently, according to Pokernews.com there's 61 left of the original 332. Those left do not include Antonio Esfandiari who was knocked out by his co-host of "I Bet You" Phil Laak, here's Pokernews.com's live reply of the hand:
Mr. Retard Knocks out the Magician
Phil Laak has just eliminated Antonio Esfandiari. After getting it all in preflop, Laak showed A-A, and Esfandiari A-Q. The board came 9c6hAd3d4h, and Esfandiari was done.
Well, not quite. "Nice hand, scumbag," said the Magician. "You're such a retard."
"That's Mr. Retard to you," Laak replied. Laak now has 36,200.
